Abstract
⺠Electrocoagulation of a surfactant-aided soil-remediation process effluent is studied. ⺠Effluent consists simultaneously of an O/W emulsion and a colloidal suspension. ⺠Electrocogulation efficiency depends on electrode materials and initial effluent pH. ⺠A marked conductivity reduction and partial neutralization of the effluent are attained. ⺠The treatment of the strongly acidic effluents using aluminium electrodes is the most efficient.
