Abstract
It is shown that the second-order nonlinear differential equation (p(t)xâ²)â²+q(t)x=f(t,x,xâ²),tâ¥0 has monotone positive solutions asymptotic to a prescribed nonprincipal solution v(t) at â of the corresponding linear homogeneous equation (p(t)xâ²)â²+q(t)x=0,tâ¥0, where pâC([0,â),(0,â)), qâC([0,â),R) and fâC([0,â)ÃRÃR,R).An example is given to illustrate the obtained result.
