Abstract
► Succinic acid recovery from fermentation broth by reactive extraction with ethanol. ► Process successfully evaluated with different succinate salts (Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+). ► Succinic acid recovery as a mixture of esterification products >90% was achieved. ► Process validated with pure salts and real fermentation products. ► Other carboxylic acids present in the broth can also be recovered.
