Abstract
⺠New precipitation was a significant predictor of storm snow avalanches. ⺠Extended Column Test propagation (ECTP) was also a significant predictor. ⺠The threshold for ECTP was 29 cm of new snow. ⺠Waiting 24 h after a storm to use explosives reduced the number/size of avalanches. ⺠Waiting 24 h also lowered explosive yield.
