Abstract
⺠2007 & 2009 fumarole samples indicate degassing of shallow & deep magma, respectively. ⺠Total volatile flux of 47.7 and 3 kt/day are found in 2007 and 2009, respectively. ⺠Passive gas emissions comprise 87-97% of total emissions at Bezymianny Volcano. ⺠More magma degasses than erupts at Bezymianny Volcano. ⺠Deep magma recharge and ascent controls eruptions of Bezymianny Volcano.
