Abstract
► WRF-Chem is a new model designed to improve ash forecasts. ► The 2009 Mount Redoubt eruption was analyzed with WRF-Chem, PUFF and satellite data. ► WRF-Chem compares well with satellite data and PUFF model runs. ► Current WRF-Chem limitations include required spatial resolution for fine topography.
