Abstract
Three mantle sources might have been involved in the Ediacaran alkaline magmatism from northernmost ANS that are chemically similar to those of (1) OIB suites, (2) subduction-related magmatic suites, and (3) carbonatite-metasomatized peridotites. In addition, compositions characterized by (Y/Nb)N >Â 0.18, (Th/Nb)N >Â 2, (La/Nb)N >Â 2, (Ce/Pb)N <Â 1, and crustal-like Nb/Ta ratios may point to a significant contribution of crustal sources.
