Abstract
⺠The Pulur and Beyçam peridotites are of abyssal- and SSZ-type vestiges, respectively. ⺠These vestiges delineate a Rheic suture in the Variscan basement of Turkey. ⺠Paleotethys was opened in the north behind the terranes separated from Laurussia. ⺠Trench-ridge collision in the north caused a southward SSZ-type subduction in the south. ⺠Oceanic vestiges emplaced onto a separated terrane during the trench-SSZ collision.
