Abstract
⺠A comprehensive zircon and baddeleyite U-Pb age determination is conducted for the Phalaborwa Complex. ⺠The various phases were synchronously emplaced at ~ 2060 Ma. ⺠The Complex has high initial Sr and low initial Nd and Hf isotopic compositions. ⺠The primary carbonatitic magma was derived from an enriched mantle. ⺠The Phalaborwa carbonatite magmatism was triggered by a mantle plume related to the Bushveld event.
