Abstract
► The Dominican ultramaphic rocks contain the first-reported occurrence of coexisting garnet + spinel + corundum. ► Petrology suggest conditions of P > 3.2 GPa and P > 3.2 GPa, the highest T reported in a UHP orogenic setting. ► The garnet REE compositions also suggest UHP conditions. ► All evidence point towards an origin in a mantle plume, and or plume/subduction interaction.
