Abstract
⺠The Dominican ultramaphic rocks contain the first-reported occurrence of coexisting garnet + spinel + corundum. ⺠Petrology suggest conditions of P > 3.2 GPa and P > 3.2 GPa, the highest T reported in a UHP orogenic setting. ⺠The garnet REE compositions also suggest UHP conditions. ⺠All evidence point towards an origin in a mantle plume, and or plume/subduction interaction.
