Abstract
âºThe Noumea Basin, New Caledonia, contains lavas with continental arc signatures. âºArc volcanism was active during the Late Cretaceous (88-103 Ma). âºSubduction along the eastern Gondwana margin may have extended to New Zealand. âºBimodal chemistry in NZ and NC may be the result of slab detachment and roll-back.
