Abstract
► In Maxwell Bay, during last 3 kyr, increases in open-marine influence took place. ► At 2 cal kyr BP, glacial influence increased, lasting at least until 800 cal ky BP. ► δ18O changes correlate with the beginning of Neoglacial, MWP and post-LIA warming. ► A significant increase in sediment accumulation rate is marked in ~ 1980. ► At our sites, climate variability has overall little impact on benthic foraminifera.
