Abstract
⺠Marine retrogressive erosion breached the caldera rim and dismantled its infilling. ⺠This process fed a wide volcaniclastic fan in the offshore. ⺠The fan was formed through the gradual stacking of submarine gravity flows. ⺠Ongoing submarine erosive processes threaten the stability of La Fossa Cone. ⺠This represents a significant geo-hazard for coastal communities.
