Abstract
⺠Sea-level rise was the main control on sediment distribution from ~ 21 to 7 ka. ⺠Tectonic deformation became more important as sea-level rise slowed after ~ 7 ka. ⺠On the inner shelf tectonics is the main control on sediment thickness variation. ⺠On the mid to outer shelf sediment is aggrading in the Eel River delta. ⺠Deposition in the Eel River Syncline is syntectonic with rates of ~ 3 mm/yr.
