Abstract
⺠A stratigraphic study in the Barracuda and Tiburon ridges area is presented for the first time. ⺠Terrigenous turbidites were present since Paleogene north of the Barracuda Ridge. ⺠This is the first time that very thick MTD's (up to 800 m) and widespread (20000 km2) have been reported. ⺠During the Middle-Late Miocene and then during the Pleistocene, the Tiburon Rise and Barracuda Ridge, respectively, were further uplifted. ⺠There was a general northward migration of the zone of deformation during the Neogene and Quaternary.
