Abstract
⺠We present bathymetric features of hydrothermal sites in the southern Mariana Trough. ⺠The features are quite variable between on-axis and off-axis hydrothermal sites. ⺠Ridge line, mound shape, and bumpy seabed may correlate with hydrothermal activity. ⺠The on-axis hydrothermal system is influenced by tectonic and volcanic control. ⺠The off-axis hydrothermal system is strongly controlled by volcanic activity.
