Abstract
- Late Ediacaran Dokhan Volcanics are exposed in the northern Arabian-Nubian Shield.
- The lava-dominated stratified succession occurs as lower mafic and upper felsic units.
- The volcanics are high-K calc-alkaline and metaluminous to slightly peraluminous.
- Evolution was through fractional crystallization with limited crustal contamination.
- Eruption was in post-collisional setting during extensional collapse of the Shield.
