Abstract
⺠Contrasts the geometries of sigmoidal tension gashes formed by two different models. ⺠Presents a new graphical method for strain analysis from sigmoidal gashes. ⺠The folded bridge model predicts volume increase followed by volume loss. ⺠In the folded bridge model, bridge destruction and brecciation follows a locking up stage.
