Abstract
												⺠The morphology of the Dixie Valley fault has been measured in 3D. ⺠The fault slip surface is characterized by a fractal geometry. ⺠This geometry is explained by the formation of lenses of damaged material. ⺠A geometrical correlation exists between the slip surface and the damaged zone. âºÂ This correlation is explained through a mechanical model.
