Abstract
⺠Fault zone microstructures are described by two different scaling properties. ⺠We use H (fracture surface roughness) and D (grain size distribution). ⺠Grain size distribution: D increases with proximity to shear zone centres. ⺠Fracture roughness: data set described satisfactorily by single mean value. ⺠Further work: closer analysis of H and D relation at shear zone edges.
