Abstract
⸠We examine the emplacement of the classic Ardnamurchan cone sheets. ⸠Pre-existing host rock structure controlled sheet intrusion orientation. ⸠AMS analysis highlights magma flow was mainly oriented NW-SE and sub-horizontal. ⸠Laterally propagating regional dykes deflected into 'cone sheet-like' geometries. ⸠Magma was likely sourced from the adjacent Mull Central Complex 35 km to the SE.
