Abstract
⺠Describes northern terminous of one of Earth's best exposed post-orogenic detachment systems. ⺠Traces Caledonian (Sil-Dev) through Modern extensional evolution of the Norwegian margin. ⺠The Eidsfjord detachment is interpreted to be an exposed ancient low-angle normal fault. âºÂ Abundant psuedotachylyte indicates that it is an ancient seismogenic low-angle normal fault. ⺠Results have implications for understanding seismogenesis during low-angle normal faulting.
