Abstract
⺠New experimental rock mechanics data for porous sandstones are presented. ⺠The critical state behaviour is the same for rocks of equal porosity and grain size. ⺠Comparing critical state and frictional sliding data shows they are near-equivalent. ⺠Porosity Ã grain size approximately predicts sandstone properties.
