Abstract
Using numerical analogues for two carbon capture and storage (CCS) reservoirs and pertinent models of poroelasticity, we examine the feasibility of estimating the reservoir properties from P-wave intrinsic attenuation and velocity dispersion in the field-frequency range. We find that even in the presence of significant model discrepancies, the inversion can provide reasonably accurate values for the key reservoir properties.
