Abstract
► We studied distribution of bulk resistivity through the Dead Sea sinkhole development site. ► Resistivity of the shallow subsurface reflects its vertical and lateral structure. ► Resistivity of the aquifer in the vicinity of the salt border was mainly 0.2-0.6. ► When sinkholes had appeared, salt was inside sediments saturated with DS brine. ► Intrusion of fresh groundwater through sinkhole area has not been observed.
