Abstract
⺠Geostatistical simulation was used to determine the optimal thickness of clay layer. ⺠Loss function was used to determine optimal estimates of the secondary compression. ⺠The design procedure and the method in this paper considers the minimum expected loss. ⺠We determined the area where the secondary compression exceeds the design criterion.
