Abstract
⺠Undrained shear behavior of loess varies with NaCl concentration in the pore fluid. ⺠There is an optimum NaCl concentration at which the shear strength is the greatest. ⺠Increase of NaCl increases the bonding forces by clays. ⺠Increase of NaCl enables the formation of greater aggregates.
