Graphical abstractCVD grown multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) coated nickel (Ni) foam is being featured to anchor nanostructured polyaniline (PANI) for a binder-free 3D rGO-MWCNT-PANI Ni Foam hybrid electrode. This electrode offers high surface area due to porous nickel structure and incorporation of MWCNT and rGO. Additionally, the growth of honeycomb-like nanostructured PANI by in-situ polymerization also contributes to surface area and adds pseudo capacitance factor to the electrode as well. Four electrodes of different PANI loading are prepared. PANI loading is controlled by time-dependent polymerization for the duration of 15Â min, 35Â min, 1Â hour, and 2Â hours, respectively. Capacitance value as maximum as 319 and 540 F-gâ1 at a scan rate of 20 mV-sâ1 is achieved for 1Â hour and 2Â hours polymerization with good cyclic stability.Download high-res image (126KB)Download full-size image
