Silica supported transition metal substituted polyoxotungstates: Novel heterogeneous catalysts in oxidative transformations with hydrogen peroxide

▶ Fe- and Mn-polyoxotungstate based catalysts were prepared and characterized. ▶ Alkylammonium-functionalized silica was used as support for the polyoxotungstates. ▶ The novel materials were used in catalytic oxidations with hydrogen peroxide. ▶ Catalytic oxidation of model hydrocarbons was achieved. ▶ Some catalysts were reused several times without noticeable loss of activity.
