Abstract
ⶠAddition of the optimum amount of Fe to Ni/Al2O3 enhanced the catalyst activity and stability of Ni/Al2O3 in the steam reforming of tar derived from the pyrolysis of cedar wood. ⶠFe atoms added were alloyed with Ni and they tended to be located on the surface of the Ni-Fe alloy particles. ⶠSuggested mechanism of high performance in the tar steam reforming is due to the synergy between high tar decomposition activity on Ni atoms and activation of H2O on Fe atoms.
