Synthesis of Ni and Ni-Cu supported on carbon nanotubes for hydrogen and carbon production by catalytic decomposition of methane

- Ni/CNT and Ni-Cu/CNT were examined for H2 production by methane decomposition.
- The Ni78Cu22/CNT catalyst exhibited superior excellent catalytic activities.
- A methane conversion of 0.8 and a carbon yield of 602 g C/g Ni was achieved.
- Dependence of carbon morphology on catalyst composition was studied.
