Abstract
												- Cu2O/Cu2(OH)3NO3 composites are synthesized using sonochemical method.
- Cu2O is formed via redox of Cu2+ and Cu0 and then transferred to Cu2(OH)3NO3.
- Cu2(OH)3NO3 shows excellent adsorption of organic pollutants.
- The composites show synergetic effect of adsorption and photocatalysis.
- The composites are very efficient in removing organic pollutants in water.
