Abstract
Nitrogen doping is uniformly distributed from the bulk to the surface of mesoporous TiO2 sphere. Compared with the nitrogen doping in the solid TiO2 sphere, the homogeneous nitrogen doping in the mesoporous TiO2 sphere could achieve the high doping concentration and the generation of successive impurity levels distributed from the bulk to the surface, which are responsible for the extension of photocatalytic activity to the whole visible-light range of 400-800Â nm.
