Abstract
Ethylene glycol (EG) as feed for syngas production by steam reforming (SR) and oxidative steam reforming (OSR) was studied in microchannel testing reactors. Catalysts were prepared applying two different preparation methods, namely conventional impregnation (cm) and separate nanoparticle synthesis (np) and compared with regard to their activity and selectivity. The figure shows the ethylene glycol conversion values obtained at the studied different temperatures and VHSV for the carried out SR and OSR experiments, respectively. The samples prepared by the conventional impregnation method showed higher activity under both testing conditions.
