Abstract
- Supercritical water (SCW) alone removes 6-7% of the sulfur present in Arabian Heavy.
- Addition of MoS2 to supercritical water improves the sulfur removal by a factor of 2.
- ZnO and MoO3 improve the decomposition of dibenzothiophene.
- MoO3 converts to a mixture of MoO2 and MoOxSy during SCW desulfurization.
- MoS2 remains unchanged during the SCW treatment.
