Abstract

- Steam reforming of raw bio-oil/ethanol feed by using a two-step continuous system.
- Ni/La2O3-Al2O3 calcination at 550 °C minimizes formation of NiAl2O4 spinel structures.
- Reduction at 700 °C produces highly dispersed Ni0 particles resistant to sintering.
- Ni/La2O3-Al2O3 calcined at 550 °C and reduced at 700 °C is the most stable catalyst.
- Deactivation affects more the bio-oil reforming than that of ethanol in the mixture.
