Abstract
- PEC inactivation of two strains was the fastest compared with PC and EC.
- E. coli BW25113 showed a significant increase of resistance to PEC and PC treatment.
- Adding halide ions could remarkably enhance the inactivation efficiencies during PEC.
- Mechanism was proposed to enucleate the enhancement of bactericidal efficiency.
