Abstract
- Ceria-based catalysts were found active for catalytic elimination of methyl bromide.
- 1%Pt/30%CeO2-Al2O3 was the most effective, with 100%CeO2 being nearly as active.
- MB was completely oxidized at 400 °C, independent of airstream humidification.
- 1%Pt/30%CeO2-Al2O3 was remarkably stable under MB and HBr oxidation conditions.
- Catalytic oxidation of MB forms HBr, which was catalytically oxidized to Br2.
