Abstract
- The reduction of CO2 on a PPy/Cu was studied for the first time to obtain usable fuel substances such as CH4 and HCOOH.
- Experiments were done at different pressure, film thicknesses and at potential values in CH3OH/0.1Â M LiClO4/H+.
- Coating of Cu surface with polypyrrole led to hydrocarbons at lowest possible overpotentials with high Faradaic efficiencies.
- The highest Faradaic efficiencies for CH4 (ca. 25%) were obtained, as known until now.
