- MgZnAl hydrotalcite compounds are presented as photocatalyst of Cr(VI) removal.
- The effect of Zn content was investigated.
- Zn content affects band gap and photocatalytic behavior.
- The removal of Cr(VI) readily occurs at basic pH with these materials.
