Abstract
- Disinfection capability of anatase is modified by surface Cu, Zn and Ag-species.
- Cu has a non-positive effect while Zn and Ag displays positive ones.
- Optimum performance reached with Ag irrespective of the initial metallic or oxidic state.
- A model rationalizes the effect of these surface species in TiO2-anatase disinfection.
- Two key parameters: surface adhesion to the cell and OH-radical formation rate.
