Abstract
► H2S capacity of the composites increases with an increase in the GO content. ► Terminal hydroxyl groups of zinc (hydr)oxide are active in the adsorption process. ► Exposure to visible light decreases the H2S capacity as a result of its oxidation. ► High energy adsorption centers are formed on the composite surfaces.
