Abstract
ⶠCryptomelane and/or birnessite can be prepared by thermal decomposition of KMnO4. ⶠThe resulting materials seem promising catalysts for soot combustion in DPF filters. ⶠThe catalytic combustion of soot occurs by the NO2-assisted mechanism.
