Abstract
ⶠCoMoS/Al2O3 catalyst prepared by impregnating sonochemically synthesized MoS2/Al2O3 catalyst with Co(acac)2·2H2O is very active in the HDS of DBT and 4,6-DMDBT. ⶠCo(acac)2·2H2O preferentially deposits on the MoS2 species. ⶠCo(acac)2·2H2O promotes the formation of the catalytically active CoMoS phases and suppresses the formation of the inactive Co9S8 phases.
