Abstract
▶ Homogenously dispersed copper on layered solid base catalyst was synthesized. ▶ The dispersion of Cu was characterized by TEM, N2O adsorption and in-situ XRD. ▶ This catalyst is extremely effective for hydrogenolysis of glycerol at 180 °C. ▶ The conversion of glycerol depends strongly on the particle size of copper. ▶ Solid base can suppress the cleavage of C-C bond in glycerol.
