Abstract
► Hydrocracking of n-paraffin was examined over Pt/SiO2-Al2O3. ► The Lewis acid density increased with the Al content of SiO2-Al2O3 supports. ► The fraction of the Brønsted acid sites depended on the Al content of the support. ► The Pt catalyst gave higher yield of the middle distillate than did the Pd catalyst. ► The fraction of the Brønsted acid sites affected the catalytic activity.
