Abstract
► The mesoporous CdS/Ta2O5 with crystallized pore walls was successfully prepared. ► The sample exhibits an enhanced visible photocatalytic activity for H2 evolution. ► The enhancement is due to high crystallinity and well-fabricated mesostructures.
