Abstract
- We propose an explanation on the pH dependence of hydrogen exchange reaction.
- As a proton crosses the electrochemical interface, it will lose its entropy.
- This gives rise to an entropic barrier.
- We compare to trends observed in experiments.
- We predict that there is no pH dependence of the hydrogen exchange on Au.
