Abstract
We introduce a new Shallow Water model for the numerical simulation of overland flow with furrow effects without representing them explicitly. The model is obtained by adding an anisotropic friction term that takes into account these effects to the classical Shallow Water equations.We validate the model with numerical tests, and we compare it with the classic Shallow Water model in which the furrows are explicitly and precisely described.
