Abstract
- Ce-Co and La-Co oxides were prepared by exotemplating and evaporation methods.
- The materials obtained were tested as catalysts for toluene oxidation to CO2.
- Ce-Co materials prepared by exotemplating were the most active.
- A high concentration of weak acid sites is favourable for catalytic activity.
- A Mars-van Krevelen mechanism can explain the acidity-activity correlation.
